Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist
Michael uses the Internal Family Systems model to support clients as they heal trauma, grow a sense of internal calm and well-being, and find solutions to immediate and long term life challenges. This includes finding their path forward with grief, loss, relationship challenges, anger/rage, sadness/depression, anxiety/stress, a sense of emptiness, lack of motivation, lack of self confidence, isolation/loneliness, questions of sexuality, sexual identity, internal and external oppression, sexism, racism, and so much more.
I received a Master's of Science in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2003. I have completed Levels One, Two and Three from the Internal Family Institute in addition to many other IFS trainings. I participate in two IFS peer groups and I have attended four IFS Annual Conferences. I also participate in IFSLA.
Michael is a native of Southern California, loves the ocean, and hikes at least once a week and loves doing improv. His spirituality aligns with the Chumash native people and his practice in the tradition of Buddhist meditation.
